3 usually undiscovered features on Apple’s iPhone 14

Apple’s iPhone 14 Pro has been available for some time, and the iPhone 15 lineup will be available in a few more months. However, that doesn’t imply the iPhone 14 Pro is a poor phone; in fact, it still has a ton of power! The A16 Bionic chip, which is quick and responsive, is what drives the new always-on display, Dynamic Island, 48MP main camera, and other features. Take photos in full 48MP resolution.

The iPhone 14 Pro, as was already reported, sports a 48MP primary camera. However, there will be instances where you want to record every single tiny detail of a scene, in which case the full 48MP resolution will be useful. Make sure the setting is enabled (green) by going to Settings > Camera > Formats > Apple ProRAW. Make sure to choose 48MP in the ProRAW Resolution area after that.

Once this is enabled, open the Camera app and then tap the RAW toggle at the top; if the RAW is not crossed out, a ProRaw photo will be taken.

Unfortunately, only images taken with a 1x focus are compatible with the ProRaw 48MP capability. It will still be in ProRaw but automatically switch to 12MP if you use the 0.5x, 2x, or 3x.

Make the always-on display yours

On the iPhone 14 Pro, the always-on display (AOD) is turned on by default. As the AOD would dim your current lock screen wallpaper, drain your battery because the display was still drawing power to show the wallpaper, and violate your privacy because notifications would still be displayed, Apple faced some backlash when the device first launched.

Android phones with AOD, in contrast, are often far more minimal, choosing to have a completely black screen with subtle notification icons. Many individuals find that Android handles this better than Apple does and found Apple’s approach to be overly distracting.

However, as a result of the uproar, Apple eventually gave in and allowed customers to subsequently alter the AOD through an iOS upgrade. You can choose to keep the default setting if you’d like, or you can make the display just black with no wallpaper, giving you the option to keep or remove notifications.
