How to back up an iPhone using Mac?

On MacOS Catalina, Apple did away with iTunes as we once knew it. A new Music app bearing the iTunes branding has taken its place. It is not, however, utilized for iPhone backups. Apple switched that capability to Finder instead.
Step 1: Connect your iPhone to a Mac running MacOS Catalina or a later version. Please be aware that a USB-C converter or USB-C to Lightning cable is required for use with recent MacBooks.

Step 2: Launch Finder and choose the iPhone from the left-hand list.

Third step: press the blue Trust button on the right.

Step 4: The iPhone displays a prompt that reads “Trust This Computer.” To proceed, tap Trust and input the passcode.

Step 5: Go to the General menu in Finder and select the Back Up Now button.

The backup process will be displayed in a status bar at the bottom. Since it can take some time, go get something to eat while you wait. Also available in Finder are tools to sync all of your material to your Mac, restore an iPhone from a backup, encrypt the local backup (which is enabled by default), and more.
