Your iPhone is a small but powerful computer that fits in the palm of your hand. You can use it to accomplish a variety of things, like keep in constant contact with others via email and texting, check social media, seek up pretty about everything you’d ever need, play music, read books, watch movies and television, and snap photos. Of course, your iPhone is also a phone, and you can use it to have actual voice conversations with anyone in the world – including those across the ocean.
Though the situation is unlikely to arise frequently, unless you frequently travel abroad, you will occasionally need to dial an international number. Perhaps you need to communicate with family or friends who have relocated to another country. If you are not sure how to make an international call with your iPhone, like the iPhone 14 Pro? Don’t worry, we’ll show you how right here.
Before you begin dialing international numbers, there are a few things you should be aware of.
To begin, foreign calls may incur additional expenses with your cell phone plan, and if you’re not attentive, these extra charges can quickly pile up. If you don’t want to be surprised with a huge cell phone bill next month, double-check with your carrier to see what the rates are for international calls. Some plans may include international calls, but you should double-check. Nobody enjoys receiving a large bill that they are unable to pay.
Second, make sure you know the country code for the international number you’re attempting to contact. Each country has its unique code, so you’ll need the correct one, otherwise, well, you might be dialing the wrong number!
Now that you’re convinced of those two crucial points, you may begin dialing.
Step 1: Open your iPhone’s phone app.
Step 2: Make sure you’re in Keypad mode.
Step 3: International phone numbers begin with +. Hold down the 0 key until the + appears.
Step 4: Enter the country code of the number you’re dialing, followed by the local number. For example, to contact someone in the United Kingdom, dial 0(+), 44, then the local number.
Step 5: Once you’ve dialed the entire number, press the green call button to begin the call.
If you intend to call this international number regularly, you should store it as a contact.
Step 1: Open your iPhone’s phone app.
Step 2: Navigate to the Recents tab.
Step 3: Locate the international number you just dialed, then hit the info button (a lowercase “i” in a circle).
Step 4: Click the Create New Contact button.
Step 5: Enter the individual’s information.
Step 6: To save, click Done.
That’s all! It can be difficult to figure out if you’ve never had to make an international call before. However, if you ever need to call a number in another country, you now know how to do so on your iPhone. It’s simple, and you can do it.
