Learn how to change the iPhone screen on your own. The front-facing camera, earpiece speaker, and LCD shield plate are already placed on this component, making it easy to fix.
All you have to do now is take out the old iPhone screen and relocate the home button to the new one.
You may also use this instruction to replace the cable bracket on the front panel assembly.
Step 1: Pentalobe Screws
Discharge your iPhone’s battery to less than 25% before dismantling it. If a charged lithium-ion battery is unintentionally pierced, it can catch fire and/or explode.
Before you start disassembling your iPhone, make sure it’s turned off.
Next to the Lightning connector, remove the two 3.6 mm-long P2 Pentalobe screws.
Step 2: Tape Over the Display
Tape over your shattered display glass to keep future breaking contained and prevent bodily harm while you fix it.
Cover the iPhone’s display with overlapping pieces of transparent packing tape until the entire face is covered.
Step 3: Opening Procedure
Place a suction cup directly above the home button on the screen.
Pull up on the suction cup with one hand while holding the iPhone down to slightly remove the front panel assembly from the back cover.
Begin carefully prying the back casing down, away from the display assembly, with a plastic opening tool, while continuing to pull up with the suction cup.
To remove the suction cup’s vacuum seal, pull the plastic nub.
Remove the display assembly’s suction cup.
Step 4: Removing the iPhone Screen
Swing the home button end of the front panel assembly away from the back cover, utilising the top of the phone as a hinge, to open the iPhone.
While working on the phone, open the display to roughly a 90o angle and lean it against anything to keep it propped up.
To keep the display in place while you work, use a rubber band. This keeps the display wires from being overworked.
Step 5: Removing the battery connector bracket screws
Remove the following Phillips screws from the battery connector bracket:
One 2.2 mm screw
One 3.2 mm screw
Remove the metal battery connector bracket from the iPhone.
Step 6: Disconnecting the battery connector
Gently pull the battery connector up from its socket on the logic board with a plastic opening tool.
Step 7: Removing the front panel assembly cable bracket screws
Remove the following five Phillips screws securing the front panel assembly cable bracket:
Three 1.2 mm screws
One 1.7 mm screw
One 3.1 mm screw
Remove the front panel assembly cable bracket from the logic board.
Step 8: Disconnecting Parts
Disconnect the front-facing camera and sensor cable connector, home button cable connector, display data cable connector, and digitizer cable connector with a spudger or a fingernail.
Step 9: Separating front panel
Remove the front panel assembly from the rear case.
Step 10: Home Button
The two 1.9 mm Phillips screws holding the home button bracket should be removed.
Remove the front panel’s home button bracket.
Disconnect the home button cable connector with the point of a spudger by pushing it up and away from the home button.
Step 11: Removing the Home Button
To soften the glue that secures the home button membrane, use a little amount of heat.
Apply hard, consistent pressure to the home button on the front side of the display assembly with your fingers until the membrane begins to separate from the front panel.
Using a spudger, gently peel the home button off the display the rest of the way.
Conclusion
Glass fragments may have adhered to the home button if you replace a shattered front panel. Before moving your home button to a new display, carefully remove any leftover glass.
It’s possible that your new part already has an extra Phillips screw placed to the left of the Home Button. Remove the non-essential screw before reinstalling the home button bracket.
Follow these steps in reverse order to reassemble your device.
